Happy Summer!

My summer haiku chosen for the Haiku Path at Holden Arboretum:

catching my breath
this spider web
at first light

I was out for a morning hike on the trails where we live and I stopped half way up a steep hill to catch my breath.  Up ahead was a glittery spider web drenched in dew.  The sun was on it like a spotlight.  And there we all were, me catching my breath, being caught up in the beauty of the intricate web, itself caught in the first light of day.  A moment caught in time.
